The post-second world war economic recovery, followed by the deep recessions of the 1980s, 1990s and 2008/9 impacted all segments of Canada’s economy and development. Some industries were seriously affected, creating a ripple effect on related businesses. Times were tough, and very competitive. Regardless, there were enterprising and brave individuals who found a niche and set up shop.

Robert Napier was one such person who, in 1945 set up his one-man shipping room equipment and supply business in Toronto.
